Why Are Your Computer Blog Posts Not As Technical As Others I See

Your PC HelperQuestion: Why are your computer blog posts less technical than others I come across? Does that mean you don’t know as much as those others?

Answer: I’ve actually been asked this question. It was a question I had not considered some people may ask. With this in mind it is probably a good idea that I take a moment and explain myself and the way that I generally write about different topics.

Putting Something In English Doesn’t Mean It’s Less Informative

The main focus behind PC Helper 123 is to make using a computer easy and enjoyable. Understandably most people are not familiar with all of the tech jargon speak that some use to make themselves feel smart (Like those at the retail stores right?). No matter what is said or how many words a blog post is if they are not understood then they are pretty much useless in the scheme of things.

A wise man once told me that if you say something and asked to put it into different words that a person can understand and you can’t then you probably don’t really know what you’re talking about. This made a lot of sense to me and I have made sure ever since that I can always communicate in a way that is easy to understand.

Technical Writing Versus Providing Information There’s A Difference

There is a difference between using the technical writing techniques that I learned in College and actually communicating with people. After all no matter how much information I provide if you can’t understand it is it really informative?

When providing information that is directed toward my peers then using the vocabulary and technical details are called for. When communicating with everyone else on the planet finding a way to explain that technical information and detail in a non-technical way keeps the eyes from glazing over the way my wife’s do whenever I forget and start talking in computereeze.
