I have to admit that over my 28 plus years working on computers that there have been what seems more than my share of computers that followed no rhyme or reason. Everyone knows those moments when for some patience give way to rage and a laptop finds itself hurtling toward a wall or a desktop computer ends up as part of Tuesday’s trash pickup.
These moments are those moments when it feels that computers are no more than a device that allows God to randomly test us. Not only our faith of what eventually will be. Also our ability to remain in control and of sound mind during these times of difficulty. Actually some things that come with using, owning, or working on computers even seem preconfigured for just that purpose.
The Evil That Surrounds Us | Scams Malware Hackers
There has never been a time when more people were trying to scam others by fear mongering them right in their living room or bedroom. By using mini programs that make their way onto your computer they attempt to convince you that you are infested with viruses and you need to call Microsoft to have it fixed or bad things will happen to you. Hackers inject trojans into every day websites in order to open a back door on your computer so that they have free reign to use your computer or worse, steal the private information that you have stored on your computer.
Online computer repair sites that claim to be charging you to fix problems when they do little more than charge you and make it look like they have fixed problems. When someone is going 100 miles out of their way to convince you that something is wrong by comparing files and hash numbers and more. Chances are usually there really aren’t any problems. That’s why they are working so hard to convince you that there is. Right before they ask you for your credit card number that is.
This by some of us is seen as the proverbial good versus evil of the 21st century. Even those things meant for fun are being used to lure unsuspecting and trusting people into a questionable place so they can rob them of their innocence in one way or another. Bleak as computers and technology have been made to sound our computers are an avenue for us to be able to have good things enter our lives.
Distances Aren’t So Distant Anymore | Family and Friends are Always Here
There was a time in the not very distant past when families were forced to go years and even decades without being able to see each other. The only memories that our children had of Grandma and Grampa were confined to old family photos and conversations held over the telephone when it was possible. Best of friends from High School, Band, or College were quickly lost to life. Each following their own paths and quickly losing track of one another.
Out of all of the bad that darkens the doorstep of the Internet and technology there is good that makes the risk of the bad more than worth it. Friends that never lose track even if one or more move to different countries let a lone states. Family that may not be able to physically hold or touch one another can now affordably see and talk to each other every day, even several times a day.
Children that come home from school can now safely have Grandma or Grandpa help them with their homework or simply discuss their day. No matter for what reason our family and friends can always feel as though they live right next door…or across the world depending on your desire 🙂
Standing Through The Trials We All Grow and Improve Even When Computers Are Involved
Life, even when it is a computer creating the trial. It really comes down to that it’s just life. There are good times and there are bad times. The best we can do is to do the best we can with what we have and continue growing forward. That one little computer annoyance may be the avenue to preventing a future tragedy or even making a new friend that helps you fix it.
