Hardware or Virus?

In the not so distant beginnings of viruses and malware the usual object was to steal information or access and usually to just emulate some type of hardware problem that didn’t really exist. Hundreds of thousands of dollars were spent on computer and computer hardware replacements that were never needed all due to a little piece of software wiping out the boot sector of a hard drive, toasting the floppy disks that a floppy drive was writing to and more. You probably never thought that the same thing could be still going on two decades later did you?

Unfortunately it goes on much more than you would think still today. One of the most difficult things to do sometimes is to distinguish between real hardware problems and problems that have been artificially created by some piece of Malware. Running a full evaluation and diagnostic is the only way to get the best solution that actually fixes the problems and doesn’t just treat the symptoms.

Pay Just To Know A Computer Problem For Sure?

When you walk into a computer store chances are that most are charging what used to be referred to as a “Bench Fee”. Today it is called a diagnostic fee more times than not. That is the minimum it is going to cost to have your computer put on a Technician’s desk and for that Technician to take a look to see if they can figure out what is going wrong with your computer.

One of the benefits of remote computer repair is that a lot of the inconveniences and costs involved with having a computer looked at are removed. This makes it possible for a computer to be diagnosed for free and for you to be sure that what you decide to fix is the actual computer problem.
